What is Faith Stepping Stones?
Faith Stepping Stones (FSS) is an innovative, Bible-based family ministry program that equips and empowers parents to raise physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy children. The curriculum allows your congregation to minister to parents at three crucial points during the first few years of the parenting journey. The seminars are designed to be fun, fast-paced, informative, and edifying. Once trained in the FSS system, congregational leaders can license and present FSS seminars in their church, school, or community. In addition, each Stone encourages parents to implement a consistent family practice that will continue to nurture their child’s relationship with Jesus.

Is Faith Stepping Stones a Bible study?
Scripture is a key part of each and every Stone, and while some congregations have adapted FSS materials to fit a Bible study format, Faith Stepping Stones was not designed to serve as a stand-alone Bible study. The nature of the curriculum allows it to be customized to best meet each congregation’s situation and needs.

Can Faith Stepping Stones be used for outreach?
Absolutely! Many congregations have used Faith Stepping Stones to more intentionally reach out to the families of their community. FSS seminars provide a wonderful opportunity for leaders and parents of your church family to build relationships with other parents in your community.

How can I get trained?
If you would like to inquire about a training in your area or are interested in hosting an FSS training seminar, please call 888-685-9522 ext. 226, or click here to contact us.

Who should attend a training session?
FSS Training Seminars are for anyone who loves Jesus, loves families, and wants to implement Faith Stepping Stones in his or her congregation. Both lay and called church leaders are welcome. Because this ministry takes a team effort, we strongly encourage you to attend with others from your ministry team.

How much does the training session cost?
Training sessions organized by WLCFS are $95 per first person from a congregation, and $50 per each subsequent person from the same congregation. That price includes all materials and meals.

How much does it cost to license the materials?
WELS and ELS congregations can be trained in Stones 1-3 from Wisconsin Lutheran Child & Family Service (WLCFS), but must purchase an annual membership from Faith Inkubators before copying materials or offering the Faith Stepping Stones system in their congregation. Faith Inkubators is the creator and licensing organization for Faith Stepping Stones. WLCFS serves as editor and training institution of Stones 1-3 for WELS and ELS congregations.

The annual membership fee is based on a congregation’s average weekly worship attendance (awwa) and the number of Stones selected. To view the chart for the annual membership fee for Faith Stepping Stones, click here.

Why do you license the materials annually?
Faith Stepping Stones is meant to be a living curriculum, unlike other programs that become outdated and sit on a bookshelf. Based on the feedback of partnering congregations and the most recent information in child development research, we are regularly making changes to the curriculum—adding new teaching ideas, referencing recent research studies, and maintaining up-to-date Web links. We want to make sure that the materials you will be presenting to parents will be both relevant and sound.

Where can I buy the  music used in the Faith Stepping Stones trainings?
You can purchase the music used during the trainings by downloading an order form.  On the order form you will also find other material that can be used for participants during the training or to promote the program within your organization. Just fill out the form and fax or mail it to us and we will ship your order to you as soon as possible.
