In order to reach as many families as possible with the message of Jesus, we are very excited to now offer several additional options for those who would like to learn more about or become trained in the Faith Stepping Stones program. These new training options have been made possible through a generous foundation grant. For more detailed information, please click on each option below.
Faith Stepping Stones Training Options:

Faith Stepping Stones Overview Presentation
Purpose: To acquaint people with the Faith Stepping Stones program

Audience: Lay leaders (church council, family ministry committee, etc.) or called workers (pastors, teachers, preschool teachers, staff ministers) from a congregation or school. This presentation is well suited to a pastor or teacher conference.
 
Time Frame: 60-90 minutes
 
Highlights:
  • PowerPoint presentation of the history and overview of the program
  • Question and answer time
Minimum Attendance:  None

Cost: WLCFS presenter travel expenses only

Faith Stepping Stones Regional Training Seminar 
Purpose: To train people in the Faith Stepping Stones methodology and curriculum, with the intent that those who are trained will then present FSS seminars to the parents of their congregations and communities

Audience: Lay leaders and called workers (pastors, teachers, preschool teachers, staff ministers)
 
Time Frame: One Saturday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
 
Highlights:
  • Continental breakfast
  • In the morning, participants will be involved in a hands-on demonstration of the physical and emotional portions of a Stone
  • Lunch
  • After lunch, participants will be involved in a hands-on demonstration of the spiritual portion of a Stone
  • Details of the FSS curriculum and licensing procedure will be discussed
  • Question and answer time
Minimum Attendance: 20
 
Cost: $95 for one participant from a congregation; $50 for each subsequent participant from the same congregation (cost includes two meals and all seminar materials) 

Note: Congregations that offer to host a regional training seminar will receive two free registrations and be reimbursed for all expenses.

Faith Stepping Stones Team Training Seminar
Purpose: To train those who cannot attend a regular FSS regional training seminar or those who would like a more intense, hands-on FSS training experience

Audience: Lay leaders and called workers from a congregation or school
 
Time Frame:  One day; 5-6 hours of training
 
Highlights:
  • Personalized training in FSS
  • Opportunity to work with the FSS PowerPoint slides
  • Guidance in deciding which FSS format is best for your church/school
  • Picking the Stone that best suits your families
  • Finding the perfect seminar day (weeknights, Saturdays, Sundays)
  • Finding the perfect seminar frequency (once per week, twice per month, once per month)
  • Time to brainstorm and begin planning an FSS seminar for parents
  • Guidelines on recruiting a team of volunteers
  • Tips for marketing your FSS event
  • Ideas for connecting parents who attend to other parents and to the church
  • Tips for using music, prizes, and food effectively at your FSS seminars
  • Brainstorming with other participants about effective family ministry ideas 
Minimum Attendance: A team of at least five people from a congregation 

Cost: $500/day plus WLCFS presenter expenses (travel, food, hotel, etc.). Meals are not included in the training cost.

Faith Stepping Stones Seminar Coaching
Purpose: To actively coach those who have been trained in FSS but would like assistance from WLCFS in presenting their first FSS seminar for parents

Audience: Lay leaders and called workers who have already attended an FSS regional or team training

Format:Three planning meetings conducted by phone, by video, or in person prior to the seminar; meeting on-site the day before the seminar (2-3 hours); on-site assistance during the presentation on the day of the seminar
 
Time: Consultation basis
 
Consultation Highlights:
Before your seminar:
  • Deciding on the best Stone to use
  • Picking a date for your seminar and the best format for your needs
  • Checklist for volunteers needed
  • Recruiting your FSS team of volunteers
  • Plugging volunteers effectively into roles and utilizing their God-given gifts
  • Event timeline for effective planning and execution of event
  • Checklist of materials needed
  • Marketing tips, ideas, and materials
  • Tips for making your seminar fun and interactive using music, prizes, food, etc.
  • Guidance for making the most of the Images & Analogies you choose 
During your seminar:
  • Assistance with set-up
  • Assistance with presentation 
After your seminar:
  • Helpful hints for following up with parents who attend
  • Using feedback from the seminar to improve your next seminar
  • Scheduling your next FSS seminar
  • Tips for connecting parents who attend to each other and to your church family
Cost: $500-$1,000 plus expenses depending on the level of coaching requested
